“Music Tells Stories”: Yspilanti Pipe Organ Festival.
Grammy-nominated local keyboardist Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra premieres a series of her “Collaborative Investigative Compositions” which blend organ music with documentary film to explore a variety of topics including the war in Ukraine, missing young women in Venezuela, and gender violence in Mexico. The program concludes with 3 commissioned works for organ, including Ruiter-Feenstra’s Rays of Hope, Navajo composer Connor Chee’s Hózhó (Life Balance), and African American composer B.E.
