“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”: Father Gabriel Richard High School Dramalums.:
Aug. 4–7. Elizabeth Champion directs Gabriel Richard students and recent grads in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s popular 1973 rock musical based on the biblical story of Joseph. The favorite son of the prophet Jacob, Joseph was sold into slavery by his envious brothers but rose to become one of the Pharaoh’s key insiders. Though it never achieved the success of the team’s earlier Jesus Christ Superstar, it’s an appealing and good-natured musical with lots of catchy melodies and innocently irreverent lyrics. 7 p.m. (Thurs.-Sat.) & 2 p.m. (Sun.), Whitmore Lake High School, 7430 Whitmore Lake Rd., Whitmore Lake. Tickets $15 (students & seniors, $7) in advance at FGRHS.org/drama and at the door. email@example.com., . . . . . .
