Housing Advocates Training: Fair Housing Center of Southeast & Mid Michigan

Housing Advocates Training (HAT) and Public Benefits Trainings (PBT), virtual, on September 13 & 14, 2022.

Please share with your colleagues and other advocates who may be interested. In addition, we will be having Advanced HAT in January and you have attended HAT in the past three years in order to be eligible.

About HAT & PBT:
HAT is designed to help social service professionals gain a working knowledge of fair housing law, landlord/tenant law, and housing subsidy programs. PBT will focus on the Department of Human Service’s most popular programs, including cash assistance, food assistance, state disability assistance, and Medicaid.

This two-day virtual training is an excellent resource for anyone working as an advocate (clients/consumers are also welcome). Housing Advocates Training (HAT) is three 2.5-hour sessions, and the Public Benefits Training (PBT) is an optional 2-hour session. Trainers include staff and attorneys from the Fair Housing Center of Southeast & Mid Michigan, the Michigan Poverty Law Program, and Legal Services of South Central Michigan.

Registration is required and is open now. Tickets are $50 before August 23rd and $60 after.
