“Hometown Holiday Concerts”: Chelsea Chamber Players
Chelsea High School vocal director Kenneth Davis conducts this local string ensemble, along with Chelsea High School music students, the Chelsea First United Methodist Church Sanctuary Choir, and the St. Joseph Parish Choir, in two performances today of 2 choral works: Nordic Suite, the Danish String Quartet’s arrangement of Nordic folk music, and contemporary composer Dan Forrest’s 5-movement cantata Lux: The Dawn From On High. The program concludes with a Christmas carol sing-along. 3 p.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6805 Mast Rd., Dexter, & 7 p.m., Chelsea First United Methodist Church, 128 Park St., Chelsea.
