“Dvořák Symphony No. 7”: Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.
Lansing Symphony Orchestra music director and Chautauqua Institution Music School Festival Orchestra conductor Timothy Muffitt guest directs the A2SO in Dvořák’s ambitious international Symphony No. 7, considered to be among his best. Popular violinist Kyung Sun Lee joins the orchestra as soloist for Prokofiev’s colorful and melodically rich Violin Concerto No. 2. Debussy’s popular Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune (“Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun”) rounds out the program. Pre–concert talk at 7 p.m. 8 p.m., Michigan Theater. Mask & vaccination recommended.
