(Billy Wilder, 1944). Classic film noir about an insurance scam/murder plot with a screenplay co-written by Wilder and Raymond Chandler. If you haven’t seen Barbara Stanwyck trade double-entendres with Fred MacMurray, you’re missing a key life lesson in flirting–and in writing. Also stars Edward G. Robinson.
