“National Theatre Live: The Seagull”: Michigan Theater.
Broadcast of a taped National Theatre (London) performance of the Chekhov tragicomedy about the making of art, the juggernaut of time, dashed dreams, and misguided desires. This stripped-down revival was called “maverick” and “strangely gripping” by The Guardian, but “flattened” and “a production that doesn’t fly” by Variety.
