Amos Lee: The Ark.:
Philadelphia-based Americana roots-rock singer-songwriter whose bluesy and misleadingly simple sound has been compared to that of John Prine and Norah Jones. Lee employs classically structured tunes, a honeyed yet funky voice, and subtly complex lyrics to convey everyday emotions without resorting to flowery sentimentalism. Opening act is R&B singer Danielle Ponder, a former defense attorney whose moving songwriting and powerful voice earned her a spot on NPR’s Tiny Desk Top Shelf series. 7:30 p.m., Michigan Theater. Tickets $35–$69 in advance at ticketmaster.com and (if available) at the door. Mask and proof of vaccination (or negative Covid test within 72 hours) required. 662-0600., . . . . . .
