“A Boychoir Christmas”: Boychoir of Ann Arbor.

Dec. 10 & 11. Boychoir music director John Boonenberg leads this local ensemble of boys ages 7-18, accompanied by First United Methodist Church organist Naki Sung-Kripfgans, in its 36th annual Christmas concert. The program opens with the traditional processional “Once in Royal David’s City,” with the 1st verse sung by a solo boy soprano, and concludes with John Gardner’s “Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day.” Other works include Alfred Burt’s “Ah, Bleak and Chill the Wintry Wind,” Stephen Paulus’s“Hallelu,” John Rutter’s raucous “Donkey Carol,” and more. Also, audience sing-alongs of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and “O Come, All Ye Faithful” are kicked off with a soaring Boychoir descant verse. This concert usually sells out. 3 p.m. (Sat.) & 5 p.m. (Sun.), Concordia University Chapel of the Holy Trinity, 4090 Geddes at Earhart.
