Community Park on Ryan Dr. has a playground, walking path, picnic areas, sports field, basketball court, and a gazebo. At the end of Edison off Second, First Street Park (Horseshoe Park) has 10 horseshoe pits, a portable restroom in summer months, and picnic areas. Monument Park, downtown, has a gazebo and is the site of many public events. Peace Park, on Ann Arbor St. at Inverness, commemorates efforts for world peace. Picnic tables and benches; strollers welcome. Mill Creek Park North, behind the fire station along Mill Creek, is an ideal kayaking spot with rapids; it has picnic tables, playground equipment, grills, and a stop on the Border-to-Border Trail. The former Mill Pond dam impoundments are the site of Mill Creek Park South, with launches for nonmotorized boats, a trail network, natural features, and fishing docks.
