On-Demand Car Service

Effective March 2017, under Public Act 345, the licensing and regulation of taxicabs and taxicab drivers is no longer under the control of the City of Ann Arbor. Taxicab regulation and licensing is now managed by the State of Michigan.

There are currently no licensed taxicab carriers within Washtenaw County, but the following companies, classified as limousine carriers, are frequently recommended by local businesses as a comparable alternative. Limousine carriers may only take pre-arranged rides, typically at a set, predetermined price or fixed fee.

Michigan Green Cars (734) 662-4444, migreencars.com
Blue Car (734) 547-2222, ridebluecar.com
MODE car (734) 707-9707, mymodecar.com
All 3 companies offer ride-booking online and through smartphone apps linked on their websites.

Uber and Lyft, which connect passengers and drivers via smartphone apps, are licensed officially by the state as transportation network companies.
