Emergency 911

For emergencies in Ann Arbor and all of Washtenaw County, call or text 911. Texting 911 should only be used in an emergency situation when placing a call is not possible. This emergency number connects callers with the nearest police communications center or Washtenaw Metro Dispatch. These centers are linked directly to Huron Valley Ambulance and to local fire departments. After dialing 911, give the dispatcher the location and nature of the emergency, and your name and phone number. Do not hang up until after the dispatcher does. In the case of texting, do not delete your text messages or turn off your phone until the dispatcher ends the text exchange.
