Local psychologist Hsiao-Wen Lo leads an hour-long program for adults that combines music with simple movements. Suitable for age 14 & up.

"Family Nature Adventures: Stewardship": Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission.

Families invited to compete in a scavenger hunt throughout the woods that involves searching for invasive species. Also, from 1-4 p.m., all invited to help remove invasive species from the preserve (to register, email carlislec@washtenaw.org). Social distancing and masks required.

"Creature Encounters": The Creature Conservancy.

Every Sat. & Sun. Conservancy staffers show off animals native to the African continent, including Tulip the kangaroo, dingoes, blue tongued skink, and a bearded dragon. Guests invited to view other animals on display, including an albino alligator, and binturongs. Masks required.

"Timberdoodle Tumble": Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission.

WCPARC naturalist Kelsey Dehring leads a hike to look for the American woodcock (aka timberdoodle), known for zig-zagging courtship flights. Wear waterproof boots. Social distancing and masks required.

H.A.C. Ultimate.

Every Sun. All invited to join a relaxed pickup game of this spirited team sport played with a flying disc. Overly competitive players are politely asked to leave.

Volunteer Stewardship Workday: Ann Arbor Natural Area Preservation Division.

Apr. 11, 17, 18, 22, 24, & 25. All invited to help remove invasive plants in city parks. Wear a mask, long pants, closed-toe shoes, & work gloves, and maintain a 6-foot distance from others at all times; tools, snacks, & know-how provided. All minors should be accompanied by a caregiver.
Apr. 11 (1-4 p.m.): Folkstone Park.
Apr. 17 (9 a.m.-noon): Berkshire Creek Nature Area.
Apr. 18 (9 a.m.-noon): Lakewood Nature Area.
Apr. 22 (1-3 p.m.): Celebrate Earth Day at Furstenberg Nature Area.
Apr. 24 (various times): Scarlett Mitchell Nature Area (9 a.m.-noon), Bluffs Nature Area (9 a.m.-noon), and Sunset Brooks Nature Area (1-4 p.m.).
