Chaired by former State Representative Dave Rutledge, this event is one of the area's longest-standing golf outings with over 150 prominent community members in attendance each year. Since its inception, this event has helped us raise over $1,000,000 for research, programs, education and outreach. "43rd Annual One Helluva Ride": Ann Arbor Bicycle Touring Society.

More than 1,500 bicyclists are expected to participate in this ride sanctioned by the League of American Wheelmen. Includes routes of 39, 62, 100 miles over paved roads and a 40-mile unpaved ride on gravel roads (tires at least 32-mm wide are recommended for this ride). Also, a 16-mile fun ride. Buffet lunch at the end of the ride. Fruit and beverage stops at other spots along the route are free to participants. New this year: Post-ride lunch buffet, watermelon, and live music at the Chelsea Fairgrounds. Safety measures include a sag wagon to bring in riders with problems and emergency communications provided by Arrow, a ham radio relay league. 1st 1,500 riders receive multicolored embroidered patches.
Riders may leave the starting point anytime between 6:45 and 10 a.m., Chelsea Fairgrounds, Old US-12 at Manchester Rd., Chelsea. "Stomp Out Sarcoma Annual Family Fun Run/5K": Stomp Out Sarcoma.

The annual Stomp Out Sarcoma Fun Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Michigan. Join us for fun, exercise, and to support the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center. This event is all about bringing community members together with doctors, patients, nurses, physician assistants, patients' family members, nurse practitioners, and researchers outside the hospital, united in one cause: fighting sarcoma.
Sarcoma is a rare connective tissue malignancy (cancer) that affects people of all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, races, and ethnicities. Sarcomas make up about 1% of all adult cancers. Due to this rarity, patients often feel isolated after being diagnosed and throughout treatment.
All proceeds from the fun run/walk will go to the Sarcoma Clinical Research Fund at the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, to help researchers and clinicians better understand this disease and find more effective treatments.

July 14: Black Pond Woods Nature Area (9 a.m.-noon, meet at the Tibbits Ct. entrance, from Brookside east off Pontiac Tr.) to remove Japanese hedge parsley.

July 21: Ruthven Nature Area (9 a.m.-noon, meet at the Gallup Park boat dock parking lot at the corner of Huron Pkwy. and Geddes) to remove invasive species threatening the native grasses and prairie wildflowers.

July 27: Marshall Nature Area (1-4 p.m., meet in the Nature Area parking lot off Dixboro Rd. north of Plymouth Rd.)to remove invasive Japanese hedge parsley threatening this oak-hickory forest.
