Brews & Views: The Role of Dark Money in Michigan Elections: League of Women Voters, Ann Arbor Area.

community member   < less League of Women Voters

Campaigns are becoming increasingly costly, and the donations harder to track. The 2018 Michigan election was the most expensive ever, with millions of dollars from dark-money groups that don't have to disclose donors. Executive Director Craig Mauger, Michigan Campaign Finance Network (MCFN), will discuss what happened in 2018, how the role of money in state politics has changed and how it impacts policy decisions. The nonprofit MCFN works to illuminate the role of money in Michigan politics.
This event is open to the public, bu attendees must be over 21 to buy/drink alcohol.
