Ark: 14th Annual Ebird & Friends Holiday Show Live at the Ark
Dec. 10 & 11. Erin Zindle, the fiery fiddling frontwoman of the classy local eclectic band the Ragbirds who has also released a solo CD, Scenes from the Fragile, Agile Avian World, is joined by several established and up-and-coming luminaries of the Michigan music scene for her very popular annual program of new and old holiday music, now in its 12th year. $35. 8 p.m. (Dec. 10 & 11) & 2 p.m. (Dec. 11).
Blind Pig: Slum Village
All ages admitted. Detroit hip-hop duo. Opener: Abstract Mindstate, the veteran lyric-driven Chicago hip-hop duo of female emcee E.P the Hellcat and male emcee Olskool Ice-Gre. $20.
Blue LLama: Paxton/Spangler Township Jazz Septet
Veteran Detroit drummer RJ Spangler and trombonist-vocalist Tbone Paxton lead a band of area musicians in swing, modern jazz, and swinging blues.
Club Above: Latin Night
DJ dance party.
Earle: Rick Burgess Trio
Jazz ensemble, named after the late jazz pianist and Earle cofounder Burgess, featuring drummer Robert Warren and a rotating roster of bassists and pianists.
Habitat Lounge: Eventjazz
Jazz originals and standards by a local ensemble led by singer- bassist Rob Crozier.
Mash: Jason Dean
Local postmodern pop singer-songwriter. 6-9 p.m.
Ypsi Alehouse: Smokey Grey
Versatile American roots music trio.
