Ark: Open Stage

All acoustic performers invited. Fifteen acts are selected randomly from those who sign up (doors open 7:30 p.m.) to perform 8 minutes (or 2 songs) each. The most talented and popular Open Stage performers are offered their own evenings at the Ark. $3 (members, seniors, & students, $2). [venue info]

Blind Pig: Tank & the Bangas

All ages admitted. Widely acclaimed New Orleans fronted by vocalist Tamona "Tank" Ball whose music absorbs hip-hop, soul, rock, and spoken word idioms. $10-$25. 8 p.m.-midnight. [venue info]

Blue LLama: Cuarteto Escobar

Latin dance music drawn from the cultural history of Latin America by this ensemble of members of the Detroit-based Cuban salsa outfit Grupo Escobar. [venue info]

Ypsi Alehouse: The Elderly Brothers

A mix of pop. Jazz, and Latin music by this versatile local band that includes members of the West Park Music Society. [venue info]
