Jazz originals and standards by different piano-based trios and quartets each show, led by bassist Rob Crozier.
Old Town: Jay Stielstra Trio
Folk-country originals by this veteran local singer-songwriter, a mainstay of the local folk scene since the early 70s who is most widely known as the author of Tittabawassee Jane and other Michigan-based folk musicals. He is accompanied by vocalist Judy Banker and bassist Dave Roof.
Ravens Club: Heather Black Project
Vintage jazz and blues by an ensemble led by Heather Schwartz, a talented local singer whose vocal style also reflects gospel, R&B, soul, and hip-hop influences.
Zal Gaz Grotto: Phil Ogilvie's Rhythm Kings
This local 10-piece big band is one of the few to specialize in the old-time big-band music of the late 1920s and early 1930s associated with Jelly Roll Morton and King Oliver. Arrangements by the renowned early-jazz pianist James Dapogny and tubaist Chris Smith. 6-9 p.m.
