March 14: Harper & the Midwest Kind
Blues-rock band led by Peter Harper, a blues singer-songwriter from Australia, now transplanted to Grass Lake, who plays blues harp and didgeridoo. The band has an acclaimed CD on the Blind Pig label, Down to the Rhythm.
March 19: Escaping Pavement
Ferndale acoustic singer-songwriter duo of multi-instrumental string players Emily Burns and Aaron Markovitz who describe their songs as "Americana wildflowers amongst blades of bluegrass." Opener: Adrian + Meredith, a Nashville-based, Michigan-bred husband-and-wife Americana duo whose music blends an old-timey twang and the frenetic bounce of early swing with rock 'n' roll attitude.
March 20: The Crossing
Traditional Celtic music and originals in in the same vein by this veteran Chicago-based quintet. Opener: Wes Fritzmeier & Friends, an eclectic mix of Celtic, bluegrass, folk, and jazz by the local duo of multi-instrumentalist Fritzmeier and composer
March 21: Deadicated
Detroit psychedelic jam band that specializes in the music of the Grateful Dead and its circle. 8 p.m.-midnight.
