This Colorado-born bluesman and MacArthur "genius grant" recipient has traveled extensively in West Africa and incorporates its music, as well as reggae, into his style. He has appeared with B.B. King, Ali Farka Toure, and Olu Dara, among others. He was the narrator of Martin Scorsese's blues film Feel Like Going Home.
