Youth Dance Day: Pure Existence Dance.

Youth Dance Day is a unique one-day dance intensive open to youth ages 5-18 in the community and will offer classes including the basics of jazz, ballet, modern, and improvisational movement. The event will go from 10 am to 2:30 pm, but plan on arriving 15 minutes early to sign in. Also make sure to pack a lunch, as a 30 minute break will be allotted.
Youth Dance Day is hosted by non-profit dance company, Pure Existence, who aims to make dance accessible to ALL kids, regardless of experience or socioeconomic status.
Youth Dance Day teaches participants that dance can be a healthy outlet for self-expression. In a crafted atmosphere of acceptance and safety, staff encourage students to explore the dance space independently and with peers. Space is limited, early registration is strongly encouraged. "Hand Balancing & Contortion for Ages 8-17": A2 Aviary.

This all-level class is designed for active young people (ages 8-17) to build the courage for inversions and the strength to stay upside down. Students will learn to balance on their hands, create absurd shapes, and find their bendiest self. Each class includes 15-20 minutes of warm-up and stretching, followed by practicing hand balancing and contortion fundamentals. Apr. 5-7: "Jumanji" (Jake Kasdan, 2017). Action-adventure comedy about 4 teens who discover an old videogame console and get drawn into the game's jungle setting, becoming the adult avatars they chose. Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart.

Apr. 12-14: "Bumblebee" (Travis Knight, 2018). Sci-fi flick about a teen who discovers a battle-scarred Transformer that looks like a VW bug.

Apr. 19-21: "Peter Rabbit" (Will Gluck, 2018). Live action and computer animated comedy loosely based on Beatrix Potter's classic.

"Creature Encounters": The Creature Conservancy.

Every Sat. & Sun. Conservancy staffers show off a sloth (2 & 4 p.m.) and a cougar (4 p.m.). Also, presentations every half hour with a cane toad, red-tailed boa, armadillo, and tegu, and a chance to see the conservancy's other animals, including an emu, bald eagle, an Arctic fox, and more.
