"'Flourish': Boot Camp for Difficult Times": Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

community member   < less OLLI Study Group

"Flourish" by Martin E.P. Seligman - A must read for those wanting to understand how we thrive.
"The book is full of nuggets about why positive approaches work."
"An interesting and hope-inducing read with real-world application."
Seligman's approach is to take psychology from its traditional role in alleviating misery and broaden it into a solid research-based guidebook to wellbeing -- teaching us how to be wiser, stronger, more generous to others, more self-disciplined, and more capable of dealing with difficulty and rejection. Seligman asks, what is it that enables you to cultivate your talents, to build deep, lasting relationships with others, to feel pleasure, and to contribute meaningfully to the world? In a word, what is it that allows you to flourish?
This study group will meet on Wednesdays for six weeks beginning on September 29. Preregistration is required via the OLLI website or phone. A link to access the study group will be e-mailed prior to the first s
