"Trauma, Chemical Use and Addiction": Dawn Farm.

Trauma, Chemical Use and Addiction will be presented by Tana Bridge, PhD, ACSW, LMSW, ACTP; Professor of Social Work, Eastern Michigan University.An expanding body of research highlights a strong relationship between substance use, substance addiction and trauma. This presentation by an award-winning trauma expert will review events involved with trauma exposure, trauma specific symptomology, the impact trauma has on the brain and on coping and subsequent substance use, and how to aid individuals struggling with trauma and substance addiction. This program is part of the Dawn Farm Education Series. No registration is required.

Eurythmy is a contemporary movement practice that brings mindfulness, felt sense and movement together. In this series we will explore themes related to expanding our awareness of space and shared humanity. All are welcome and no experience is necessary. Our teacher, Claudia Fontana has been practicing and teaching Eurythmy for over thirty years internationally and locally. The WINTER 2020 SIX WEEK SERIES will take place on Wednesday Evenings 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. starting January 8, 2020 and costs $90 for the series. Please bring non skid, non marking slippers or shoes and wear comfortable clothing.

One-Day Amateur Radio Class: ARROW, U-M Amateur Radio Club.

Description: Get your Technician Class amateur radio license in a day! Sponsored by ARROW and the University of Michigan Amateur Radio Club (W8UM), you will learn everything that you need to get your Technician Class amateur (ham) radio license. The instructor is Dan Romanchik, KB6NU. Class will start promptly at 9:00 am and run until 3:30 pm, at which time the Technician Class license multiple choice exam will be given. Time is allotted for breaks; soda machine available, please bring your lunch or snacks. The class is open and free to all high school and college students with a valid student I.D. card. "White Tara Workshop": Jewel Heart Tibetan Buddhist Center.

WHITE TARA is the manifestation of the compassion and wisdom activities of the enlightened, often referred to as the feminine principle of Buddhahood. While Tara is loved and honored throughout the Buddhist world, you need not be Buddhist to participate in this workshop. White Tara meditation practice is particularly associated with healing and long life.
DEMO RINPOCHE went to Drepung Loseling Monastery in Mundgod at the age of five, and spent nearly 30 years in meditation, debate, memorization, philosophy, and composition under the Dalai Lama's direct supervision. Rinpoche received the highest monastic degree of Geshe Lharampa from Gelugpa University in India in 2011. He continued his studies at Gyume Tantric College of Higher Tibetan Studies in Dharamsala. He received his Master's Degree in Inter-Religious Engagement from Union Theological Seminary in New York City in 2018. Currently based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan, he serves as the Resident Spiritual Advisor at Jewel Heart.
