Yin/Restorative Yoga: Mota Thai Yoga.

  community member   < less

Reconnect with yourself-mind, body, and spirit! This slower paced style of yoga is a good compliment to our fast-paced lifestyles. Passive asanas (postures) are held for long periods of time, sometimes up to 3-5 minutes, allowing the deep connective tissue to stretch, the fascia to release, and an increase circulation in the joints. Learn to listen to your body and breath, how subtle movements can change the asana completely, and how to find peace in that which brings you discomfort.
When you come to the studio, remove your shoes at the door, and take your belongings to your yoga space. You will be checked in at the door.
Your first class is free. Otherwise, drop-in for $15 or use a class package. Register on Mindbody or www.motathaiyoga.com
(The studio is located at 416 W. Huron Street, across from the YMCA. Look for blue door #22 with a red buddha on it.). Email info@motathaiyoga.com if you have any questions.

"Donation YinYasa Yoga": Mota Thai Yoga.

  community member   < less Yoga

Yinyasa Yoga is a combination of Yin and Vinyasa Yoga. The Vinyasa postures flow from one to the next to create internal heat. The Yin postures are held for longer periods of time to allow the muscles to relax and the connective tissues to be gently stretched. Appropriate for all levels.
When you come to the studio, remove your shoes at the door, and take your belongings to your yoga space. You will be checked in at the door.
Choose an option to donate from $10-$20, or use a class package. Register on our website (www.motathaiyoga.com), or on Mindbody.

"Suspension-Extension Coyopa Yoga": Mota Thai Yoga.

community member   < less Coyopa Yoga

Yoga--unlike other yoga class you've taken before. This high intensity class uses straps (similar to TRX) to stretch muscles that can be difficult to stretch in other exercises. Class starts with stretching, moving to a flow sequence that will get the heart rate up. The straps are used to help balance and stretch deeper (and safely) into yoga postures. Usually you will feel the stretches in your tighter/weakest muscles first. Your first couple classes may be intense, but if you continue to come to this class, you will notice big changes! This class can help build strength, relieve pain, release tension, increase flexibility, and prevent injury. The studio will be heated between 90-95 degrees for this class, so bring a water bottle. Your first class at the studio is free!
You can park in the studio's parking lot for free. Same parking lot as the Yellow Barn. Look for the #22 blue door with a red buddha on it. Pre-register on our website (www.motathaiyoga.com) or on Mindbody.

Sacred Sound Journey: Verapose Yoga & Meditation House.

community member   < less Victoria Schon

Join Victoria for this 75-minute sound journey of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, drumming and other sacred sound instruments at Verapose Yoga & Meditation House in Dexter, Michigan. She begins with guided meditation and relaxation techniques to expand your ability to find equilibrium and harmony, thus opening a portal of creativity and connection during her sound journey.
Sacred sound vibration therapy is a powerful non-invasive healing modality and beneficial to restoring our total wellbeing at the cellular level--heart, mind and body. Some may even experience spontaneous physical healing. The effects can be a more harmonious sense of wellbeing in resonance with higher vibratory frequencies that can last for a few hours, days or longer.
