"#HikingMyFeelings: Healing Your Mind and Body on the Trail"

community member   < less Hiking My Feelings

After surviving two of the hardest years of her life, Sydney Williams was standing in an REI dressing room trying on hiking gear for her first backpacking trip. Looking back in the mirror was a woman (and body) she didn't recognize. She looked herself in the eye and simply asked, "GIRL, how did we get here?" It was a rhetorical question for the dressing room, but two thru-hikes across Catalina Island helped Williams establish the mind-body connection that was necessary for her to be able to face her trauma head-on and leave everything on the trail. The first hike on the Trans-Catalina Trail was the hardest physical challenge Williams had ever tackled; it taught her how to love her body, and reminded her that she could do hard things. Nine months before her second journey, she was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. By the time she hiked the island the second time, Williams was 60 pounds lighter. "Candlelight Labyrinth Walk and Meditation": Ringstar Studio.

  community member   < less

The labyrinth began as an intricate maze meant to trap the monstrous Minotaur on the island of Crete. After many centuries of evolution, it has become a spiritual and meditative tool, with a single path in and out of the center. The journey to the center represents going deep within the self on the way to revelation or enlightenment. Join us for a self-guided walk through a labyrinth formed out of candles, complete with quiet music and incense. Cushions will be available outside the labyrinth for seated meditation. This is a donation-based event, with no one turned away for lack of funds.

"Crystal Singing Bowl Sound Healing": Verapose Yoga & Meditation House.

community member   < less Crystal singing bowls

As we greet the sunrise together, with still minds and open hearts, our awareness of nature and subtle energies is heightened. Plugging into nature, and the circadian rhythms of the planet through the power of sound is essential to our wellbeing, where in a state of total relaxation, healing and connection to a higher consciousness can take place. We can then approach the day ahead with a more open heart and calm mind, while simultaneously being a bright light to the folks in our life.
The sound healing, is a sound meditation or sound bath, that begins with each person lying down in a comfortable position, often with a blanket and an eye mask. After a few minutes of guided focus on the breath, the remainder of the experience is filled with various sounds, tones, and frequencies being introduced in succession.
Duration 60 minutes.
