“Love a Park Days”: City of Ann Arbor Give 365 Volunteer and Outreach Program.
Aug. 3, 16, 26, & 28. All invited to pick up trash, weed playgrounds, spread woodchips, and help city staffers with other minor beautification projects. U-M Museum of Natural History Planetarium & Dome Theater.
Daily. Three different audiovisual planetarium shows suitable for all ages. Expedition Reef (12:30 p.m.) reveals the secrets of the “rainforests of the sea,” the world’s most vibrant and endangered marine ecosystems. The Sky Tonight (1:30 & 3:30 p.m.) is an exploration of the current night sky, with tips on how to find the cardinal directions, constellations, and planets on your own. Tales of the Maya Skies (2:30 p.m.) immerses viewers in the wonders of Mayan science, examining how Maya scholars developed a sophisticated understanding of astronomy, architecture, and mathematics that enabled them to predict solstices, solar eclipses, weather patterns, and planetary movements. Dani Darling: Blue LLama Jazz Club
Influenced by artists like Erykah Badu, Radiohead and old Hollywood movie scores, Dani Darling is an imaginative chanteuse, guitarist, producer, band leader and songwriter from Ann Arbor, MI. Her most recent release, a Psychedelic Soul EP called “The Future” saw Darling on the Cover of the Detroit Metro Times ascending as one of Michigan’s very brightest stars.

The Moth StorySLAM: Michigan Radio.
Open mic storytelling competition sponsored by The Moth, the NYC-based nonprofit storytelling organization that also produces a weekly public radio show. Ten storytellers are selected at random from among those who sign up to tell a 3- to 5-minute story on the theme of “Enemies.” Stories are judged by a 3-person team recruited from the audience.
