The Sky Tonight (1:30 & 3:30 p.m.) is an exploration of the current night sky, with tips on how to find the cardinal directions, constellations, and planets on your own. Tales of the Maya Skies (2:30 p.m.) immerses viewers in the wonders of Mayan science, examining how Maya scholars developed a sophisticated understanding of astronomy, architecture, and mathematics that enabled them to predict solstices, solar eclipses, weather patterns, and planetary movements. Local singer-songwriter Joanna Sterling (noon), best known as the frontwoman of the former chamber folk-pop quintet Joanna & the Jaywalkers . Veteran local singer-guitarist John D. Lamb (1 p.m.), who has a “laid-back, made-in-Detroit drawl” and blue-collar-yet-erudite lyrics. Yearning, ethereal folk rock by Detroit indie singer-songwriter Lilly MacPhee, (2 p.m.). Adam Labeaux (3 p.m.), a local singer-songwriter known for his improvisational folk-rock and soul.
