Mar. 27–31 (AAPS & YCS spring break). Three different audiovisual planetarium shows suitable for all ages. Did an Asteroid Really Kill the Dinosaurs? (11:30 a.m.) looks at cosmic collisions across the solar system including the 6-mile-wide asteroid that hit the earth 66 million years ago. The Sky Tonight (12:30 & 2:30 p.m.) is an exploration of the current night sky, with tips on how to find the cardinal directions, constellations, and planets on your own. Adam Falkner: Skazat! Poetry Series.
Online reading by this Brooklyn-based poet, whose first full-length collection, The Willies, tells the dueling stories of an alcoholic father and his queer son “coming into the truth” through sharp and vulnerable snapshots and an urgent, humorous, and humane voice. LGBTQ Night: Dani Darling & Na Bonsai: North Star Lounge
Dani Darling is an imaginative singer/songwriter, guitarist, producer, and bandleader, it’s no wonder she’s also a self-proclaimed “music nerd.” With a sound that has evolved from jazzy lo-fi grooves to lush, layered funk and soul, Darling continues to ascend as one of Michigan’s brightest stars with ambient live shows, regular airtime on WDET, and TV performances (“Live in the D”). Her most recent effort is an EP called The Future, debuted on the cover of the Detroit Metro Times to critical acclaim and earned her a Detroit Music Award nomination for best R&B Recording.
Detroit-based singer Na Bonsai focuses her emotions into song lyrics and physical art forms. She focuses primarily on an R&B sound but is open to wherever her songwriting takes her.

The Funky Rivertown Fest is a new, five-day festival in downtown Ypsilanti dedicated to original music. The carefully curated program includes many Detroit Music Award winners and nominees playing across a wide variety of genres.
The first evening of the Funky Rivertown Fest will feature 2 groups of 4 singer-songwriters selected from the absolute best in Michigan!
