This Korean-born ceramic artist discusses her work that explores contemporary life using traditional clay techniques drawn from Korean onggi ware, an iron-glazed brown pottery, as well as her time studying ceramic making in Jingdezhen, China, the “porcelain city” that produced high-quality blue-and-white ware for global trade between the 16th and the 19th centuries.
