Daily. Three different audiovisual planetarium shows suitable for all ages. Sea Monsters (11:30 a.m.) follows a curious dolichorhynchops (an extinct species of marine reptile) as she travels through the most dangerous oceans in history, meeting long-necked plesiosaurs, giant turtles and fish, sharks, and the most dangerous sea monster of all, the mosasaur. The Sky Tonight (12:30 & 2:30 p.m.) is an exploration of the current night sky, with tips on how to find the cardinal directions, constellations, and planets on your own. Rockin' for the Hungry: Food Gatherers
Food Gatherers is joining with ann arbor’s 107one and Kroger to raise one million meals to fight hunger where we live. Come see us in person from Tuesday, November 30th to Saturday, December 3rd from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. outside the Kroger store on Maple RD. Food Gatherers staff, volunteers, and ann arbor’s 107one radio hosts will be broadcasting live and “freezin’ for a reason”. LGBTQ Tuesday: DJ Myint: North Star Lounge
In her own words: “I started my DJ career from humble beginnings, spinning house parties and small clubs around Ann Arbor in 2014; my first live gig was at the Blind Pig, Ann Arbor’s coveted rock and roll venue. After quickly becoming a household name among local restaurateurs and club owners, I began several residencies at places such as Frita Batidos, a favorite Cuban hotspot among locals, and Aut Bar, Ann Arbor’s only gay nightclub. Shortly thereafter, I began performing several Pride events around the country, both in-person and virtually during the Covid-19 quarantine. Wedding and event clients began to roll in for my eclectic musical variety, my personality both on and off the mic, and the novelty of having a female DJ.
My transition into professional sports entertainment began when the Tournament Director for the LPGA Volvik Championship asked me to DJ their pairings event. Soon after I was approached by the University of Michigan Athletics via my close relationships and association with the university. I was invited to DJ for a block party for the Real Madrid & Liverpool international soccer game hosted on Main St. in downtown Ann Arbor and the very next day played the official University of Michigan Nike Apparel launch party. Providing a total audience of people exceeding 20,000. By far the largest events that I had performed yet.
I have since become the resident DJ for several University of Michigan Athletics teams, playing various NCAA tournaments and Big 10 championships; Including the 2021 Champion Women’s Gymnastics team. I’ve had the honor of playing at the University of Michigan ‘Big House’ (the second largest stadium in the world) for two of the International Champions Cup soccer matches between FC Barcelona and Napoli, and Manchester United vs. Liverpool. I also perform for the University directly, performing many of the parties and events they hold throughout the year.
