“Pickleball”: Purple Rose Theatre Company.
Every Wed.–Sun., Sept. 30–Dec. 17. Rhiannon Ragland directs the world premiere of actor-playwright (and Purple Rose founder) Jeff Daniels’ comedy about America’s fastest growing sport. Four below-average players try to overcome their own limitations to achieve greatness in a game that has nothing to do with pickles. U-M Museum of Natural History Planetarium & Dome Theater.
Daily. Three different audiovisual planetarium shows suitable for all ages. Expedition Reef (11:30 a.m.) reveals the secrets of coral reefs, the “rainforests of the sea” that are the Earth’s most vibrant and endangered marine ecosystems. The Sky Tonight (12:30 & 2:30 p.m.) is an exploration of the current night sky, with tips on how to find the cardinal directions, constellations, and planets on your own. Tales of the Maya Skies (1:30 p.m.) immerses viewers in the wonders of Mayan science, examining how Mayan scholars developed a sophisticated understanding of astronomy, architecture, and mathematics that enabled them to predict solstices, solar eclipses, weather patterns, and planetary movements. 9th Annual Fair Housing Breakfast: Fair Housing Center of Southeast & Mid Michigan
The 9th Annual Fair Housing Breakfast will be held on October 27, 2022, at Weber's Inn, and virtually. Funds raised through ticket sales and sponsorship go directly toward our investigation and enforcement programs, as well as to provide education and outreach to the community on their fair housing rights under the law. We are a non-profit serving 10 Michigan counties.
We are pleased to announce that Bryan Greene, Vice President of Policy Advocacy at the National Association of REALTORS®, will be our guest speaker for the 2022 event.
The event will be held at Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor, and virtually. Tickets are $50 in-person / $35 virtual for members of the Fair Housing Center, and $75 in-person / $50 virtual for non-members, and are available by clicking here. Together, we can fight housing discrimination and win!

Racial Foundations of Public Policy is a speaker series that focuses on the historical roots and impact of race in shaping public policy as both a disciplinary field and as a course of action. Through it, we bring in renowned scholar-experts from across the country to be in conversation with Dean Celeste Watkins-Hayes, the founding director of the Center for Racial Justice at the Ford School of Public Policy. The series is open to all members of the University of Michigan community and the wider public.

You Are Not Alone: Community Stories of Mental Health: NAMI Washtenaw County
You Are Not Alone is a mental health awareness night filled with stories of those who have experienced a mental health condition firsthand. Our evening will begin with three community members sharing their stories, followed by the special appearance of Ken Duckworth, author of the new book You Are Not Alone. Interested individuals can get their book signed, learn more about what NAMI offers, and enjoy some light refreshments after the storytelling.
This event is free and open to all community members. We love it when community members come with questions about mental health. No former experience with NAMI, the book, or even mental health is necessary!
