Pontiac Trail?

Q. Has Pontiac Trail been secretly renamed? Most of the new street signs, especially near Northside Elementary, display "Pontiac St." rather than "Pontiac Tr."
A. Google shows the entire street as "Trail." Maps on the city's website label it "Street" south of Barton Dr. and "Trail" north of Barton.
Switcheroos like this often generate confusion-in this case, apparently, even at the city sign shop. Signs south of Barton display both "St." and "Tr."-sometimes within sight of one another.
