Marnee Thai, a fixture on the ground floor of the 414 S. Main high-rise for thirteen years, closed its doors in June. Owner Wichai Cheva closed his Oak Valley Centre restaurant, Lotus Thai, in 2017. At the time, Cheva told the Observer that nearby competition and approaching retirement were responsible for Lotus’s closure. We were unable to reach Cheva this time; the Marnee website simply says “I’ve sold the restaurant and have decided to take down this website. Thank you for the many years of support!” —
