For many Washtenaw County families, living without a bed is an unfortunate reality from which there is no feasible escape. Friends In Deed seeks to improve the overall health and well-being of the families in the Washtenaw County community by transforming their lives "overnight."
Inadequate sleep can lead to the following:
- Increased risk of cardiovascular issues
- Higher likelihood of obesity
- Problems with mood, anxiety, and behavior
Unfortunately, the children of families in need often develop poor sleep habits that, if not corrected, can last into adulthood. Imagine how you feel after a few nights of poor sleep. Now imagine that situation compiled over many nights, and you'll get the idea of the long-term health problems. One of the best ways to ensure better sleep is to use quality mattresses and bedding. This is where Friends In Deed steps in.
It has long been known that good rest is critical to a person's overall well-being. Many families in Washtenaw County are suffering from inadequate sleep due to the lack of a proper bed. Whether a parent is seeking a comfortable living for her family, a student is aiming for an 'A' on his next exam, or a kindergartener is learning to read; sufficient sleep provides the necessary foundation for achievement. Please consider helping Friends In Deed as we partner with Van Winkle Mattress Co. to help more people have #GivingGiftofRest - after all, sleep is what dreams are made of!
