Two downtown businesses closed quietly in November, leaving only brief announcements on their doors. Plymouth-based raw juice vendor Drought closed its S. Fourth Ave. location a little over a year after it moved in. Four metro Detroit locations remain open, and a new store in Detroit has been announced on its website. The four James sisters-turned-co-owners could not be reached for comment.

Pieology shut down four Michigan franchise locations in early November, including one on E. Liberty. “We have truly enjoyed sharing our love of pizza with the Ann Arbor, Royal Oak, Warren and Bloomfield Hills communities,” read a post on the brand’s Twitter account. “However, after sincere consideration, it has been determined these locations will no longer be active.” Franchisees Todd Holden and Robert Kurnick Jr. declined to comment.
