Kids resale without the "ridiculous" prices

Kate Astrakhan says she's on a quest "to make parenting more affordable and convenient" with the opening of ConsignChelsea--home of 'Round About a Baby & Kids. The mother of four and soon-to-be first-time grandma who's "big into resale" realized there wasn't a children's consignment shop in the area. She says she wanted to fill the need without the "ridiculous" prices she's seen at chains such as Once Upon a Child.
The store in the back of the USArtQuest building on Old US-12 offers clothing, toys, books, and furniture for newborns to age twelve, as well as furniture, home decor, art, and sporting goods. Astrakhan is a Chelsea resident and sound engineer who for twenty-five years has owned Audio Adrenaline, a studio that does postproduction work for movie trailers, TV commercials, podcasts, and more. For her new venture, she looked to Moran's Consignment, a men's and women's resale shop in downtown Chelsea, for help: "Everything I know I learned from Stephanie Moran and her staff."
