Ann Arbor’s newest 7-Eleven convenience store is located under the luxury student Foundry Lofts at Huron and Division. The ninety-year-old originator of the Slurpee is the largest convenience retailer in the world and continues to expand rapidly–according to its website, a new 7-Eleven opens somewhere in the world every three hours.
Alongside a description of Foundry’s other ground-floor tenant, Wild Poke, the building’s website boasts, “Whether you want coffee before class, granola for the library, or other snack essentials, you can find just about everything at 7-Eleven.” The name originally referred to the chain’s extensive-for-the-time hours of operation, but this one is open twenty-four/seven–likely another draw for students.
