Feb. 5, 12, & 19. Historical and traditional English dancing to live music. All dances taught. No partner or experience needed. Bring flat, nonslip shoes (running shoes OK). First-timers are asked to arrive at 7 p.m.

Every Wed. Swing dancing to recorded music. No partner needed. Bring casual or nicer shoes that stay on your feet when you're active. The Feb. 13 dance is a "Vintage Valentine Dance" with live music by Alex Belhaj's Crescent City Quartet.

Every Fri. Lindy hop, East Coast swing, Charleston, blues, and Balboa dancing to music spun by DJs. Followed at 11:30 p.m. by blues dancing. No partner needed. Preceded at 8 p.m. by beginning lessons.

A chance to learn about the city's upcoming annual survey of the salamander (10 a.m.) and frog & toad (1:30 p.m.) populations in town. There are also training sessions (preregistration required) for volunteers to help with the survey.
