Class meets Wednesdays, April 16 - May 21

Ann Arborite Benajah Ticknor (builder of Cobblestone Farm) was a naval medical officer on the first official U.S. Mission to Southeast Asia (1832-1834). He kept a journal of his voyage, which was turned into the book: "The Voyage of the Peacock", edited by Nan Powell Hodges. It is an interesting view of the U.S. government's attitude towards the region at that time, as seen thru the eyes of a rather rigid and conservative American. Instructor George Taylor is president of the Cobblestone Farms Association and has a wealth of information on Dr. Ticknor and Cobblestone Farm.
