Morning Tai-Chi: Sun Shen.

community member   < less Master Kim Instructs Senior Student

Happiness is not a circumstance, it is a cultivation. When you practice Tai-Chi, you get to know a part of you that was hidden and you have been looking for all of your life: the power and potential that your mind and body are really capable of. Classes are held Monday through Friday, 7am to 8:30am. See if it is a right fit for you--enjoy your first week of class for free. Contact Pastor Neuhaus at pastorneuhaus@sunshen.org or 734-845-9786 for more information.

Suspension-Extension Coyopa Yoga: Mota Thai Yoga.

  community member   < less

Yoga--unlike other yoga class you've taken before. This class uses straps (similar to TRX) to stretch muscles that can be difficult to stretch in other exercises. The straps are used to help balance and stretch deeper (and safely) into yoga postures. Usually you will feel the stretches in your tighter/weakest muscles first. Your first couple classes may be intense, but if you continue to come to this class, you will notice big changes! This class can help build strength, relieve pain, release tension, increase flexibility, and prevent injury. Come join us Monday nights at 5:45pm. The studio will be heated for this class, so bring a water bottle. Your first class at the studio is free!
Look for the blue door marked #22 with a red buddha on it. We are in the same parking lot as the Yellow Barn.

A Day of Silence and Meditation Practice, led by Carol Blotter: Michigan Friends Center.

  community member   < less heron

Each retreat is an opportunity to enjoy the quiet of the country while practicing sitting and walking meditation. This day is appropriate for anyone interested in meditation: beginners will have break-out instruction; experienced meditators can be in silence all day; those in-between can practice and have their questions answered. These retreats are fundraisers for the benefit of Michigan Friends Center.
Carol Blotter's meditation practice draws from dual roots in Quaker and Buddhist traditions. She has taught since 1999, has led more than 40 retreats across the United States, and has taught over 50 classes in meditation to spiritual seekers, schools, universities and medical groups. She is a teacher for The Forest Way -- an organization dedicated to providing retreat opportunities conducive to spiritual growth that is both balanced and integrated.
Suggested donation $30 or as able. Pre-registration requested. Contact Carol at (734)475-0942 or cb.meditate@gmail.com to register.
