A WHOLE LOT OF VARIETY
This fitness class is different from the start because it is based on scientific research and input from older adults like you. The result is a fun and lively program that works!
EnhanceFitness combines the three key components of fitness: strength training, flexibility and cardiovascular conditioning.
Our one-hour class meets two times a week and is attended by older adults interested in improving their life through exercise. Expect a casual atmosphere and an energetic, certified instructor. Classes begin with a warm-up period, followed by work with light soft-weights, and finish with a cool-down session. Interaction among participants is always encouraged-it's another benefit of the class!

Also known as aerial dance, this art is a great way to develop strength, coordination, flexibility, spatial awareness, and confidence. Kids in grades 6-12 are welcome to attend this series of after school classes designed specifically for young people. Younger people are welcome to observe a class to see if they're ready. Partner Acrobatics (often referred to as AcroYoga, or Acro) offers an exploration into partner dynamics, through balance postures and movement. We will be working on supporting (basing) and flying in a variety of postures, learning how to use (as well as develop) strength, stability and balance. Each class will offer a focus on different moves, allowing you to slowly build up your repertoire.
If you have never tried anything like this, don't worry, this class is meant to be for everyone. We will gladly walk you through the basics. Now remember, this class is all about having fun and possibly learning something about yourself in the process. It will be available on a drop-in basis, until there is enough interest to develop into a progressive series. The cost will be $15/class, or $50/month. You can come solo, or with a partner. Life without a loved one can be overwhelming, even long after that person has passed. To help individuals coping with grief, Arbor Hospice offers a supportive and caring environment to work through the loss.
Support groups and events are open to everyone, regardless of whether their loved one received services from Arbor Hospice. All grief support programs are free of charge, but donations are welcome to help support the nonprofit's programming.
This is an eight-week group held on Mondays (Jan. 27-March 17) from 7-8:30 p.m. and is open to any individual who has experienced the loss of a parent.

The night before Michigan's student government votes on a divestment resolution, Abunimah will analyze the current moment make a clear case for standing against Israeli apartheid. Come hear the voice that Alice Walker calls "brave, trustworthy and true!"
