We received sixty-three entries correctly identifying the Fake Ad for Washtenaw Community Auto Repair in the Winter Community Observer. The ad featured a list of automotive services offered, each with the letter ‘L’ omitted. No L. Noel, get it?

Jane Rossi did. “I spotted your clever Fake Ad for Washtenaw Community Auto Repair,” she wrote. “Wishing you a joyous No-L, too.”

The unusually high number of correct entries–along with no incorrect ones–leads us to believe that you, dear readers, are getting even smarter. Either that or we’re becoming less wily in the way we disguise the Fake Ads. Let’s just go with the former and leave it at that. We’ll all feel good about it.

Tom Glowacki is feeling good. He won our little contest one year ago, and his entry was drawn as our winner again this time. He’s taking his gift certificate to Common Grill.

To enter the Spring Community Observer Fake Ad contest, identify the fake ad by name and page number (hint: it always contains the word “community”). Enter by email (jim@aaobserver.com) or by mail (Community Observer Fake Ad, 2390 Winewood, Ann Arbor, MI 48103). The deadline for entries is Wednesday, May 20.
