The Tines of the Fork

Eat was December's I Spy

by Sally Bjork

posted 1/4/2014

"I Spy Eat ... on Packard." writes Sterling C. Sherman of Detroit. Elleanor Crown sees "the tines of the fork ...impaling the 'e' of Eat"--the establishment featured in December that, she notes, "debuted as one of Mark's Carts."

"I recognized that logo immediately," writes Jordan Adema. She works on Eat's website, and says that "my good friends Helen [Harding] and Blake [Reetz] run this catering/take-out joint."

"This clever little 'kitchen with a sales counter' is a ... jewel of efficiency and variety," writes Jane Hughes. "Just thinking about their tasty food" makes Noah Levin "hungry." "Great food!" writes Jason Kahn, who adds, "This is in our neck of the woods and sometimes, therefore, in our stomachs too."

Sam Firke enjoys being "exposed to music by an outstanding local artist" while waiting for his order. The location was "formerly Marcano's South American cuisine and a BTB ... before that," offers Alan Traxler. "Here's hoping Eat is here to stay!"

Fifty-five people correctly identified Eat. Our winner, drawn randomly, is Olivia Chiu of Ann Arbor; she will enjoy her $25 gift certificate at Ulta.
