Q. The new condo on the north side of Huron just west of Seventh is complete on the exterior and landscaped but does not appear to be occupied. Any idea why this is still vacant several years after construction?

A. “The Ravines” is a seven-unit condo developed by Jack Schwarcz, a suburban Detroit dentist and U-M grad who’s been active in Ann Arbor real estate for more than thirty years. Like many other local projects, the Ravines was slowed by the recession, but a representative says the plan is to complete two units for a grand opening this month. With two heated parking spots for each unit, hardwood floors, and marble and granite finishes, they’re a pricey $500,000-$800,000. The Charles Reinhart Co. has the listings, and the developers can provide financing.
