I very much appreciated Jim Leonard's story on the DDA's parking structure, as the story took shape over many months and Jim skillfully encapsulated a lot of information in just a few paragraphs. But one small point of correction. The DDA's project involves much more than a parking structure. It also includes two new water mains under 5th & Division, a new downtown street, a new alley with electrical transformers, and structural capacity built into the parking structure to accomodate whatever might eventually be constructed on top. 70% of the $50 million project cost is parking structure, 30% is infrastructure investment. Thus the cost for the underground parking is closer to $55,000/car space, not the $100,000 estimate shown in the story. Best wishes, and thank you again for sharing information about our project.
