Only 104 Fake Adders correctly identified last month’s Fake Ad for Indian Supper on page 56 of the September issue. That’s an unusually low number of correct entries for September. At least we think it is. Finding out would require actual research, which we haven’t done since college and didn’t do much of then, TBH.

That paucity might be explained by the difficulty of the ad, which contained the last name of the previous month’s winner, “Shivak,” in the side-by-side depictions of the Hindu deities Shiva and Krishna. “I’ll be curious to see how many readers figure out Shiva and Krishna (to get Samantha’s last name) this month,” wrote Lakshmi Narayanan. Narayanan was one of only seventeen people who earned extra credit for naming both.

Our winner was Mark Brantmeyer. He’s taking his gift certificate to Arbor Farms.

To enter this month’s contest, find the fake ad and send your guess to backpage@aaobserver.com. The fake ad always contains the name of last month’s winner in some form.
