Hold the Parchment

I really wish that Ms. Raskin could find a respectful way to register her opinions, rather than resorting to what appears to be an ad hominem attack.

My wife and I have been puzzled about Pilar's Tamales generally positive word of mouth for years. We are foodies, and know (what we think) is good food when we taste it. Sadly, this review, in our opinion, is spot on. Pilar's Tamales are often almost tasteless, and we've been to Mexicantown (and Chicago, and Mexico!) many times to know the difference. It's time Ann Arbor's food press stopped playing cheerleader and start raising the bar to help A2 become the foodie town it deserves to be. Right now, we have great market options (Plum, Zingerman's, Farmers, etc.) but oh so many mediocre dining establishments. Kudos to Hanna Miller for calling it like she sees (and tastes) it.
