Downtown's New Buildings

"I'm not for 'grow or die'; there are quality-of-life issues to consider. But some places evolve and others go in another direction. When I moved here in 1974, the downtown was dead. But now Ann Arbor is a beacon in Michigan, and we have to maintain and enhance it so it stays a place people want to come, especially people in their twenties and thirties. They're the future, and if they're not here, they and the future will be somewhere else."    (end of article)
