I know what house Cazzie built,” writes Mary Keeley about July’s feature, Crisler Arena, “or, Center as it is called now.” The phrase honors “former Wolverine great, Cazzie Russell,” writes Vivian Loh about Michigan’s star basketball player of the 1960s. The crowds he drew to what was then Yost Field House spurred Crisler’s construction. “I was fortunate enough to see Cazzie play where the ice arena is now,” writes Tom Jameson. Ann Whiting was a “student escort” at the dedication of Crisler Arena, which was part of “the year-long U of M Sesquicentennial celebration back in 1967,” she writes. “Ahhh, memories …”

“It’s not actually the house that Cazzie built,” clarifies Aimee Germain–the photo actually shows “the William Davidson Development Center” which opened in 2012 and features practice courts, locker rooms, training and conditioning facilities, and more. Eric Sobocinski asks, “Does that make it the addition to the house that Cazzie built?”

We received 33 entries correctly identifying (the addition to) the house that Cazzie built. Our random drawing winner is Tim Reade of Huntington Woods. He’s donating his $25 gift certificate to Kim Elsifor, author of last month’s feature about the perils of an Ann Arbor job search; she’s taking it to the new Arborland Kroger.

To enter this month’s contest, use the photo and clue above to identify the feature and follow the instructions at the bottom of the page.
