"We never even used the word 'vegan' until last year. If people would ask, we'd tell them, but we thought it would deter people if we splashed 'vegan' across the cart," says Phillis Engelbert, co-owner, along with Joel Panozzo, of The Lunch Room, the newly opened restaurant in Kerrytown that grew from a food cart. "Hearty" is how she describes their food.
